Sports Roundup: Flintridge Prep defeats Chadwick in baseball, boys’ volleyball

BASEBALL

Flintridge Prep 4, Chadwick 0: Host Flintridge Prep picked up a Prep League home win Thursday at the Glendale Sports Complex.

Flintridge Prep (11-4-1, 5-2 in league) got three hits and two runs batted in from Kendall Kikkawa. Starting pitcher Bradley Noble went six innings, striking out five and yielding three hits for Flintridge Prep.

St. Francis 7, Valley Christian 3: St. Francis wrapped up the St. Paul Tournament on Wednesday with a win.

The Golden Knights got a bases-loaded double in the first inning from Niko Khoury. They also received a two-run double in the sixth from Brandon Lewis.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Flintridge Prep 3, Chadwick 0: Jonny Samuels finished with 16 kills and three blocks Thursday to lift the visiting Rebels to a 25-12, 25-12, 25-17 Prep League victory, the program’s 23rd in a row in league.

Flintridge Prep (16-2, 6-0 in league) got 10 kills, 14 digs and two aces from AJ Nicassio.

SOFTBALL

Flintridge Sacred Heart 11, Mayfield 1: The Tologs routed the host Cubs in a nonleague contest on Thursday to improve to 10-3.

GIRLS’ LACROSSE

La Cañada 14, Westridge 13: The Spartans picked up a Pacific League road victory on Thursday afternoon in Pasadena.

La Cañada improved to 7-7 and 1-1 in league.

BOYS’ SWIMMING

La Cañada 107, South Pasadena 63: The drive for a runner-up finish in the Rio Hondo League is in good shape for the Spartans, who picked up a Rio Hondo League road victory on Thursday afternoon.

La Cañada improved to 5-1, 3-1 in league to remain in second place.

GIRLS’ SWIMMING

La Cañada 123, South Pasadena 47: The Spartans picked up their second straight Rio Hondo League victory on the road on Thursday afternoon.

The Spartans improved to 5-1, 3-1 in league.
