Sports Roundup: La Cañada lacrosse wins Birmingham tourney
GIRLS’ LACROSSE
La Cañada in Birmingham High Tournament: La Cañada (5-7) received the winning goal in overtime from Melina Tsotras to post a 7-6 win against St. Monica Academy on Saturday to win the tournament’s Black Bracket.
The Spartans also picked up tournament victories against Tustin (12-6) and San Fernando Valley Academy (14-5).
Mira Costa 16, La Cañada 6: The Spartans suffered a nonleague loss Friday afternoon at home.

La Cañada 11, South Pasadena 0: The host Spartans cruised to a Rio Hondo League home victory Tuesday. The Spartans improved to 5-1, 2-0 in league.
Pasadena Poly 13, Flintridge Prep 3: Visiting Flintridge Prep dropped a Prep League contest Thursday. The Rebels (0-3, 0-2 in league) got got two runs batted in from Carina Mankerian.

St. Francis 203, Village Christian 207: St. Francis (3-2) notched a nonleague win Thursday at De Bell Golf Course in Burbank. St. Francis received a two-over-par 36 from Henry Fitzhugh and 39s from Jacob Smissen and Vincent Bedros.
Temple City 202, Flintridge Prep 218: Flintridge Prep (7-1) fell for the first time Thursday in a nonleague match at Eaton Canyon Golf Course in Pasadena. Ben Sacks carded an even-par 35 for Flintridge Prep.
SWIMMING
Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 95, Alemany 75: Flintridge Sacred Heart swam to a Mission League win Tuesday at Loyola High.
The Tologs (2-1 in league) got wins from Fiona Mass in the 200-yard freestyle in 2 minutes 15.27 seconds and 500 freestyle (5:53.95).
