Sports Roundup: Flintridge Prep boys’ volleyball downs Providence in four

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Flintridge Prep 3, Providence 1: Host Flintridge Prep (8-2) picked up a 25-17, 25-16, 23-25, 25-22 nonleague win Tuesday. Jonny Samuels had nine kills for the Rebels, who got eight apiece from Majeed Ismail and Bruce Dennis.

Flintridge Prep earned a 24-26, 25-22, 25-16, 25-22 nonleague home win Monday against La Salle. Samuels finished with nine kills and Ismail had eight.

BASEBALL

La Cañada 2, Hacienda Heights Wilson 0: The Spartans (4-2) picked up a nonleague victory Tuesday. Tyler Fierro drove in a run for the Spartans, who got two hits each from Connor Buchanan and Conner Schulz.

The Spartans lost Saturday, 6-0, to host Maranatha in the Frozen Ropes Tournament.

BOYS’ GOLF

Pasadena Poly 210, Buckley 211, Flintridge Prep 218: The Rebels dropped a Prep League tri-match Tuesday at Brookside Golf Course No. 2 in Pasadena. Flintridge Prep (4-4, 0-2 in league) saw Ben Sacks card a two-over-par 37 to finish first in the field.

On Monday, Flintridge Prep posted a 218-271 nonleague win against Heritage Christian on Monday at Altadena Golf Course. Matthew Choi had a five-over-par 41 for Flintridge Prep, which got a 42 from Justin Yu.

St. Francis in Mission League match: The Golden Knights took fourth in the 18-hole event with a 395 at Wilson Golf Course in Los Angeles. St. Francis received a four-over-par 76 from David Emerson, a 77 from Henry Fitzhugh and a 78 from Stian Lintvedt.
