BOYS’ BASKETBALL

La Cañada 76, Monrovia 49: It was an easy Rio Hondo League road victory for the Spartans on Friday evening.

Sean Estes paced La Cañada (14-4, 2-0) with 18 points.

Loyola 61, St. Francis 51: St. Francis lost a Mission League road game Friday. The Golden Knights are 11-6, 1-3 in league.

Chadwick 63, Flintridge Prep 53: Jake Althouse finished with 21 points Friday for the visiting Rebels in a Prep League game. The Rebels are 4-7, 2-1 in league.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

La Cañada 73, Monrovia 23: The Spartans rolled to a Rio Hondo League road victory on Friday.

Alexi Nazarian was one of three players in double digits for La Cañada (13-4, 2-0) as she totaled a game-high 13 points. Sydney Lew and Zoe Williams added 10 points each for the Spartans, who led, 32-2, after one quarter.

Flintridge Prep 66, Chadwick 42: The Rebels got 22 points from Kaitlyn Chen on friday to post a Prep League win.

Marymount 57, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 54: Camilla Homans finished with 13 points Thursday for the Tologs in a Mission League road defeat.

Flintridge Sacred Heart fell to 6-13, 0-3 in league.

BOYS’ SOCCER

La Cañada 2, Monrovia 2: The Spartans picked up a potentially pivotal Rio Hondo League road tie on Friday afternoon against the defending champion Wildcats.

Senior Sam Adida netted both goals for La Cañada (4-4-4, 1-0-1).

Flintridge Prep 1, Chadwick 0: Tim Treinen scored the only goal in Friday’s Prep League home match at St. Francis High. The Rebels (7-1-1, 2-1 in league) got eight saves from Aidan Schraeder.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

La Cañada 2, Monrovia 0: The Spartans kicked off the Rio Hondo League season with a home victory Friday afternoon.

With the win, La Cañada is now 4-9-1.
