Sports Roundup: La Cañada boys’ golf clinches share of league crown

BOYS’ GOLF
La Cañada 188, San Marino 199: The Spartans clinched a share of the Rio Hondo League championship with a victory Wednesday afternoon at par-35 Brookside Golf Course in Pasadena.
La Cañada improved to 7-0 with the win and can close out an undefeated league championship with a win Thursday afternoon. The Spartans will host South Pasadena at La Cañada Country Club at 3 p.m.
John Hickman led the Spartans with an even-par 35.
SOFTBALL
Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 25, Marymount 0 (five innings): Flintridge Sacred Heart hit six home runs, including two each from Alli Lombardo and Payton Tomkins, to register a Sunshine League road win Wednesday.
The Tologs (11-4, 2-2 in league) got a home run each from Amanda Ramirez and Olivia Fitzpatrick.
BOYS’ TENNIS
St. Francis 13, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame 5: The visiting Golden Knights picked up a Mission League win Tuesday.
St. Francis improved to 8-5, 4-4 in league.
BASEBALL
Loyola 6, St. Francis 2: For the second time in as many days, the Golden Knights fell by a 6-2 score in a Mission League road game Wednesday afternoon.
With the defeat, St. Francis’ record dropped to 6-18 and 2-12 in league.
