Sports Roundup: La Cañada falls in tourney finale

Hesperia 38, La Cañada 33: The Spartans surrendered the final six points to fall in Friday afternoon’s championship game of the Damien Classic Bronze Division in La Verne.

The Spartans (10-4) finished 3-2 in the tournament.

Newbury Park 60, Flintridge Prep 50: The Rebels dropped their final game of the Santa Barbara Holiday Classic on Friday afternoon.

With the loss, Flintridge Prep (3-6) finished the tournament 1-3.

On Thursday, Flintridge Prep dropped a consolation game, 58-23, to Santa Fe.

Jake Althouse and Kendall Kikkawa had six points apiece for the Rebels.

Flintridge Prep picked up a 58-49 tournament win against Bishop Diego on Wednesday. Althouse had 16 points and nine rebounds and Jonathan Lee contributed 14 points for the Rebels.
