Evan Tontini pitched five innings, allowed five hits, struck out three and allowed four runs, though they were all unearned.

Walnut 6, La Cañada 0: Matthew Sox had a pair of hits in Saturday’s season opener for the Spartans in the Frozen Ropes Classic.

Walnut scored three runs in the first and then three runs over the final two innings as the Spartans were held to three hits.
