BOYS’ BASKETBALL

St. Francis 117, Bassett 50: St. Francis (7-3) posted a resounding victory Tuesday in a pool-play game of the Nogales Tournament. The Golden Knights began the tournament Monday with a 74-46 win against Montebello.

Coast Union 40, Flintridge Prep 39: The Rebels (2-4) fell in a pool-play contest of the Santa Barbara Tournament on Tuesday afternoon.

Flintridge Prep received 18 points and eight rebounds from Kendall Kikkawa and eight points from Jonny Samuels.

La Cañada 72, Rialto 49: The Spartans earned a pool-play victory Monday in the Damien Tournament.

Justin Kouyoumdjian registered 19 points for the Spartans (8-2).

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

La Cañada 40, Buena 33: The Spartans moved to 2-0 in the La Cañada New Year’s Eve Ball Tournament with a victory Tuesday afternoon.

Zoe Williams continued her hot play for La Cañada (8-4) with 14 points and eight rebounds, while Kristina Kurdoghlian added six points and eight rebounds.

The Spartans play Hart on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

La Cañada 63, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 50: The Spartans knocked off the Tologs (5-7) Monday in a pool-play game of the La Cañada Tournament.

Zoe Williams paced the Spartans to a season-high 25 points and seven rebounds.

Flintridge Prep 68, Birmingham 39: Taylor Yoshida finished with 24 points and Andie Kim added 16 for the Rebels (8-1) on Monday in a pool-play game of the Cantwell Sacred Heart of Mary Tournament.

BOYS’ SOCCER

La Cañada 5, La Salle 0: After a bumpy start to the season, the Spartans seem to have righted the ship.

La Cañada won its third straight contest with a win in pool play of the Crescenta Valley Winter Classic on Tuesday afternoon in La Crescenta.

With the victory, the Spartans are now over .500 at 3-2-1.
