Charity helps college-bound foster children

The Glendale chapter of the National Charity League helped to provide college-bound foster children with dorm-room essentials.

The organization partnered with United Friends of the Children to support 40 students who are set to attend four-year universities. The students picked out their items during a “shopping party,” which included comforters, bed sheets, towels, laundry bags and shower caddies.

“It was an eye-opening experience to see the smiles on the students’ faces as they shopped,” said Melissa Horner in a statement. “Those kids are truly deserving, after all their hard work in high school.”
