The Valley Line: Fun at theTofR Happy Hour
It has been pretty darn muggy around here lately. It felt more like being in the state of Virginia than California. The weather people promise that it will get better — I certainly hope so.

The expansive and beautiful backyard of Judy and Vince Dundee was the venue for the LCF Tournament of Roses Association’s June Happy Hour.
It was a lovely summer evening when nearly 100 floaters gathered under the stately oak trees to talk about summer vacation plans and news of the day. Of course, there was talk about this year’s float, “If Pigs Could Fly.” If you haven’t seen the rendering of what our float will look like, take a peek at the website — www.lcftra.org. I think it is adorable.
Food always is an important element of these happy hours and the serving tables were laden with delicious appetizers and desserts. Volunteer bartenders for the evening set up their own watering hole near the swimming pool. They mixed up everyone’s favorite cocktail just for the asking.

Mark your calendars now: The next Happy Hour will be at the home of Meredith and Tom Reynolds, 4389 Chevy Chase, from 6 to 8 p.m. on the evening of Friday, July 22. Association members graciously open their homes for these get-togethers and everyone over 18 is welcome to attend — just bring an appetizer to share and buy your beverage of choice at a minimal charge.
