Crime blotter: iPhone 4S stolen from middle schooler, Coach purses and gold-rimmed Dolce & Gabbana glasses stolen from car

Burglary: 4400 block of Oak Grove Drive, before 2:57 p.m. Window smashed, two Coach purses and wallets, $100 in cash, gold-rimmed Dolce & Gabbana glasses and an iPod taken from a Lincoln Navigator.

Sept. 23

Theft: 2100 block of Tondolea Lane, before 9:45 a.m. Apple iPod taken from a Honda Accord.

Sept. 21

Burglary: 2564 Foothill Boulevard, 1:13 p.m. A man was arrested for placing a credit card “skimming” device and a small camera on the ATM at the U.S. Bank after a customer told employees he was loitering suspiciously. The suspect was later identified by a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s task force as a member of a crew of card skimmers from Oakland.

Theft: 4725 Rosemont Avenue, 3:20 p.m. An iPhone 4S was stolen from a Rosemont Middle School student. A man asked the student if he could use the phone, and then got into a car and drove off.

Sept. 22

Burglary: 2500 block of Montrose Avenue, 2:36 p.m. A man reported that while he was out of town his residence was ransacked and $3,000 in cash was taken from the master bedroom.

Sept. 23

Burglary, drug possession: 2647 Foothill Boulevard, 1:17 p.m. A Tujunga man was arrested for trying to use counterfeit $20 bills at Rite Aid. During a vehicle search, deputies found a pipe used to smoke methamphetamine and common burglary tools including flashlights, wrenches, screwdrivers, wire cutters, gloves and two-way radios.
