Hiker rescued from Eaton Canyon

A hiker stranded in Eaton Canyon was rescued from a cliff by a Los Angeles County Fire Dept. rescue helicopter Wednesday afternoon.

Officer Charles Youngstrom of the Altadena Sheriff’s station said that the hiker was uninjured, but had gotten stuck on the cliff up near the second waterfall in the Altadena canyon at around 1 p.m.

The Altadena Mountain Rescue Team and Pasadena Fire Dept. also assisted with the rescue operation.

Youngstrom said that the helicopter extraction was completed at around 2:30 p.m., and the hiker was released at Eaton Canyon with only minor injuries.
