Portantino aide joins Planned Parenthood
Julianne Sumiko Hines, a former aide to two members of the Assembly from La Cañada Flintridge, will take the post of vice president of external affairs for Planned Parenthood Pasadena & San Gabriel Valley, the organization announced. Sumiko Hines served as aide to then-Assemblywoman, now state Sen. Carol Liu (D-La Cañada Flintridge), and until recently was district director for Assemblyman Anthony Portantino (D-La Cañada Flintridge). Portantino’s term in the Assembly ended Nov. 30.
