Sheriff’s detectives arrested Thursday a Los Angeles man in connection to a robbery at a La Cañada Flintridge bank in June.

William Alexander, 47, was arrested at his home in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles after detectives secured a warrant to search the location.

“He was booked for robbery at the Crescenta Valley Station and is currently being held on $100,000 bail,” Sgt. Ray Harley said.

Shortly after noon on June 11, a white male that detectives believe may have been Alexander entered the Citizens Business Bank in the 800 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada. He passed a note to a teller stating he had a gun and demanded money. No weapon was seen during the incident.

The teller complied with the note, and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash. He then proceeded west on Foothill Boulevard to the parking lot at the former Sport Chalet building. At some point a dye pack activated. The suspect abandoned all or most of the cash and fled in a white, mid-size SUV.
