Burglary: 700 block of Forest Green Drive. A burglar alarm went off at 7 p.m. Someone had smashed a glass pane on a rear door, then apparently took off after hearing the alarm sound. The property owner reported no losses.

Identity theft: 4300 block of Woodleigh Lane. A man reported that someone had accessed his personal information and used it to make several charges on his credit card and also made changes to his AT&T telephone and Sprint cellphone accounts. Those phone numbers were used to try to withdraw funds from his Schwab account and someone had faxed a request to Wells Fargo for a wire transfer of his funds there to Agricultural Bank of China. The victim’s personal banker at Schwab denied several attempts to withdraw funds from that account. The victim, in reflecting on ways his identity might have been compromised, said his mail had previously been stolen and that his insurance provider, Anthem, had recently been hacked.

Petty theft (shoplifting): 900 block of Foothill Boulevard. Store employees reported seeing a man walk into the shop via a rear door, then look at various wine bottles. He was spotted placing a bottle of wine in his waistband. When he was told by an employee that he could not carry merchandise in his clothing, the suspect allegedly grabbed one more bottle and exited the store, also through the back door, without paying for either. Taken were a bottle of Contes de Champagne and one bottle of Perrier Blanc de Blanc.

Reasonable cause, burglary; mail theft: Flintridge Avenue at Commonwealth Avenue. Deputies arrested two Glendale men during a traffic stop shortly after a delivery person called 911 to report suspicious activity in the 4000 block of Alta Vista Drive, at 6:37 p.m. The informant said he’d seen two men in a white Camry who did not look like they belonged in the neighborhood. When the suspects opened a mailbox there, he called out to them and they took off. When a car matching their description was pulled over nearby, deputies found 18 pieces of mail that did not belong to either suspect, a screwdriver, a black beanie and latex gloves. Arrested were Arman Nikogosyan, 37, and Arsen Nahapet, 35, both of Glendale.

A student reported that someone had taken her volleyball clothes out of her locker sometime between 12:20 and 2 p.m. that day. The victim found the shoes in a nearby trash can but did not find the other articles.

Identity theft: 2500 block of Mayfield Avenue. A man reported he received an envelope that contained an unsigned note and a bank check. The note stated the check had been found in the bushes. The check was drawn on an account to a business he knew nothing about, but was using his address. He believes someone is using his name and address to operate an online business. Citibank confirmed there is an account for the business and that it lists his address, but whoever opened the account used a different social security number than his. The man was advised to monitor his credit.

Residential burglary: 2000 block of Prospect Avenue. Residents reported that sometime between 2 p.m. on March 27 and 11:30 p.m. on April 4, someone had broken into their home and stolen a pillowcase, a men’s gold watch, an 85-year-old stainless steel pocket watch, a stainless steel men’s Army ring with clear stone, a green metal ammunition container, a social security card, three checkbooks and two wooden jewelry boxes containing costume jewelry. They found their kitchen door had been left ajar by the intruder; its wooden door frame was damaged.
