Blumenfeld’s activism group gets nod from Time magazine

Share

Time magazine published a list of 12 education activists to watch in 2012, mentioning one name familiar to La Cañada: Andrew Blumenfeld.

The school board member’s former Princeton classmates Catharine Bellinger and Alexis Morin started Students for Education Reform (SFER) in 2009. Blumenfeld is a member of the organization that mobilizes college students and gets them to advocate for education reform in the voting booth and in state capitols, according to the magazine.

SFER has since grown to 71 chapters in 28 states.

Blumenfeld, a 20-year-old Princeton junior, beat out school board incumbent Jeanne Broberg in the November election.
