La Cañada United Methodist Church preps for Super Bowl Sunday

A senior luncheon with a focus on the Super Bowl will be held at noon Sunday at La Cañada United Methodist Church. Sports enthusiast Bill Evans will lead a talk on the Baltimore Ravens vs. the San Francisco 49ers.

Earlier on Super Bowl Sunday, Dr. Joel Green of Fuller Theological Seminary will be the guest preacher at the 10:30 a.m. worship service.

The church, located at 104 Berkshire Place, is also planning a Drive-Thru Cafe fundraiser from 7 to 9 a.m. Monday through Friday, Feb. 4 to Feb. 8.

Visitors can drive through the parking lot and buy coffee and freshly baked treats. On Saturday, the fundraiser concludes with a Book Sale Cafe and Boutique, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

At 7 p.m. on Tuesday, the church will hold its monthly Taize meditation service, a period of reflection.
