La Cañada Crime: Safe, gold watch and pearl necklace stolen in residential burglary

April 17

Residential burglary: 4900 block of Alta Canyada Road, 1:35 p.m. Safe, gold watch, pearl necklace and gold pocket watch stolen from home.

April 17

Auto burglary: 1930 Foothill Blvd., 6:14 p.m. Leather purse containing a wallet with credit cards, checkbook, and a set of work keys stolen from car parked at the Crescenta-Cañada YMCA.

April 18

Possession of marijuana, switchblade knife: 5000 block of Rock Castle Drive, 12 p.m. A 20-year-old La Crescenta man was arrested for possessing marijuana and a knife.

April 19

Receiving stolen property: 3700 block of Berwick Drive, 1:50 a.m. A 31-year-old Canoga Park man and a 31-year-old San Fernando woman who police believed were in the act of committing a burglary were arrested. Burglary tools were found in the vehicle the two people occupied, along with stolen property.

April 19

Grand theft: 5000 block of Castle Knoll Road, before 7:30 a.m. Electrical copper wiring and copper tubing from AC unit stolen from home.

April 19

Possession of methamphetamine: 4600 block of Hampton Road, 8 p.m. A 42-year-old Beaumont man was arrested for possessing meth and equipment to weigh and sell the drug. About $365 in small bills was found in his pocket.

April 16

Possession of drugs, shoplifting: 2467 Foothill Blvd., 8:32 p.m. A 23-year-old Newhall man was arrested for stealing a CD/DVD player from Rite-Aid and for possessing heroin.

April 16-17

Vandalism: 2700 block of Foothill Boulevard, before 6:30 a.m. April 17. Glass window broken on business.

Montrose

April 18

Attempted burglary: 4400 block of Ocean View Boulevard, before 6 p.m. Resident reported that a door to an apartment was split and the door lock was loose.

April 20

Possession of concentrated cannabis and marijuana: 2100 block of Florencita Ave., 8 p.m. A 20-year-old Altadena man was arrested for possessing marijuana and hashish.
