Bill Song, a 22-year veteran of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, is set to lead the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station starting next week.

The station announced the new captain on Thursday afternoon. Song is set to start on Sunday, May 5.

He replaces Capt. Dave Silversparre, who announced in April that he was reassigned to lead the radio room at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Communications and Fleet Management Bureau in Los Angeles. Silversparre was captain of the station for five years.

Song previously worked as an executive aide to Asst. Sheriff Cecil Rhambo.

“I am very excited to take command of the Crescenta Valley Station and to work alongside all the dedicated personnel at the station to provide quality service to the very supportive communities served by the Crescenta Valley Station,” said Song in a statement.
