About $30,000 in damages and jewelry losses were experienced by a La Cañada Flintridge store during a burglary early Thursday morning, according to officials with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Dept.

[Update 6:15 p.m.: “The $30,000 figure released earlier was an estimated loss which included the damage caused by the suspects during the burglary. A vast majority of the initial loss is the damage and replacement costs. The dollar amount for actual jewelry loss is unknown due to disarray of the display cases and the owner not knowing what was missing at the time of the report,” said Sgt. Robert Galbraith of the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station.]

Deputies from the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to an alarm at Avianti Jewelery at 2137 Foothill Blvd. at 1:30 a.m., said Sgt. Brian Mann.

When they arrived at the scene, deputies found a glass panel broken on the store and several pieces of jewelry missing, said Mann.

Authorities are searching for possible suspects.
