School shouldn’t get special treatment

Share

Re: “Neighbors flunk school’s plans,” Aug. 15. Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy willingly and knowingly exceeding the city’s legal enrollment cap of 385 students is bad. What is worse is that the city of La Cañada Flintridge is both not enforcing its own laws, and actively considering the school’s dramatic expansion.

The city is acting like a policeman catching a driver doing 90 mph on the 210 Freeway, not giving the driver a speeding ticket and encouraging the driver to lobby for raising the legal speed limit.

We want our laws to apply to everyone equally, and not for some members of our city to be treated better than others and to conduct illegal activities in our city.
