The city of La Cañada Flintridge recently passed its annual budget for fiscal year 2014-15, reporting annual expenditures of $11.9 million and a general reserve fund of $14.3 million, or 120% of the total operating budget.

La Cañada has maintained a general fund operating budget surplus for more than a decade, according to a July 25 release issued by the city’s finance department, and was able to allocate $5.7 million this fiscal year for capital improvement projects, including street resurfacing, drain work and several roadway and concrete improvements.

“Investing is a community is a top priority for this council,” La Cañada Mayor Mike Davitt stated in the release. “Because of our ongoing efforts in fiscal responsibility, the residents of La Cañada Flintridge will see their tax dollars going exactly where they should be — back into our community.”
