The La Cañada Flintridge One City One Book Committee has announced its pick for the community read this fall. Local residents are invited to dive into “Suspect,” by Robert Crais, then participate in an October event with its author.

“The book chronicles the relationship between two ‘wounded warriors,’ one of whom is a Los Angeles policeman who lost his partner at a crime scene, and the other a military dog who lost his partner, a marine, in a firefight in Afghanistan,” according to a news release issued this week by the One City One Book Committee.

Paperback copies of the book can be purchased at area bookstores and are also available at the La Cañada Flintridge branch of the County of Los Angeles Public Library at 4545 Oakwood Ave.. For further information, go to LCFOneCityOneBook.org.

The author event will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5 in the La Cañada Unified School District Board Room on Cornishon Avenue. Crais will be interviewed by local author Mark Salzman, and will be available for a question-and-answer period and to sign copies of his book.
