Crime blotter: Cash, jewels handgun taken from La Cañada home

Nov. 1

Auto burglary: 4700 block of Hayman Avenue, 6:30 p.m. A resident discovered that sometime in the two days prior, a locked Hyundai sedan had been entered, a wallet had been taken and several charges had been made to debit card in wallet.

Burglary: 5800 block of Briartree Drive, between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. Rear sliding glass door shattered, two gold bracelets taken.

Theft: 4800 block of Crown Avenue, 10 p.m. or later. A cellphone, sunglasses and leather portfolio were taken from an unlocked Mercedes sedan.

Nov. 2

Theft: 900 block of Foothill Boulevard, between 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Purse containing $300 taken from an unlocked Toyota Prius.

Vandalism: 4200 block of Commonwealth Avenue, 2:51 p.m. Occupy Los Angeles protesters drew slogans in chalk in front of a home. No arrests were made.

Burglary: 300 block of St. Katherine Drive, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Rear glass door shattered, home ransacked.

Theft: 300 block of San Juan Way. Apple iPod taken from an unlocked Ford SUV.

Nov. 5

Theft: 800 block of Wiladonda Drive, between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Spare tire taken from Dodge Ram pickup truck.

Harassing telephone calls: 5400 block of Ocean View Boulevard, from 7:44 a.m. to 4:38 p.m. the following day. A woman received 36 calls on her cellphone from a restricted number, including one in which the caller used profanity.

Burglary: 8100 block of Lynnhaven Lane, between 3:30 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. Rear window pried open, two safes containing $7,000 in cash, jewelry worth a reported $85,000 and a Sig Sauer semiautomatic handgun taken from a locked home.

Burglary: 600 block of Wendover Road, before 2:30 p.m. Resident discovered that in the month prior clothing and artwork had been taken from the home.

Nov. 9

Identify theft: 5300 block of Palm Drive, 10 a.m. A woman discovered her personal information had been used to open an account at Macy’s.

Oct. 22

Identity theft: 2300 block of Caracas Street, 10 a.m. A resident attempting to make a real estate purchase discovered that his credit had been damaged because five delinquent accounts with charges totaling $72,032 had been opened in his name.

Nov. 2

Vehicle burglary: 2300 block of Del Mar Street, between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. Headphones and loose change taken from a locked Ford Explorer.

Auto burglary: 2400 block of Montrose Avenue, between midnight and 10:15 a.m. $30 in coins taken from a locked Toyota Matrix.

Nov. 3

Burglary: 4800 block of Dyer Street, between noon and 7 p.m. Sliding rear doors smashed open, digital camera, iPad, wedding ring, laptop computer and $652 in cash taken.
