Crime Report: Two 5-ton air conditioning units stolen from house under construction

Feb. 5

Grand theft: 1000 block of Ridgecliff Lane. Between 5 p.m. on Jan. 17 and 4 p.m. on Feb. 1. Victim stated that her residence has been under construction for 10 months. Two 5-ton air conditioning units were stolen from the side yard of her residence.

Feb. 6

Petty theft: 3800 block of Hampstead Road. Between 10 p.m on Feb. 5 and 6 a.m. on Feb. 6, someone stole U.S. currency of various denominations from an unlocked vehicle.

Feb. 8

Burglary: 663 Foothill Blvd., the TJMaxx store. 9:40 p.m. A suspect was detained inside the store after attempting to return items for cash using old sales receipts.

Feb. 10

Burglary: 3800 Block of Chevy Chase Drive. Between 5 p.m. on Feb. 7 and 8 a.m. on Feb. 10. Someone stole metal and copper wiring from house that is under construction.

Feb. 4

Identity theft: 4800 block of Janvier Way. It was reported Feb. 4 that on Jan. 8 someone had used the victim’s name and personal information to make unauthorized charges via credit card. The victim contacted customer services and was refunded the money.

Driving without the owner’s consent, false impersonation of another, identity theft, possession of a deadly weapon, possession for sales, possession of drug paraphernalia: Intersection of Foothill and Oceanview boulevards. 12:30 p.m. A car’s driver was pulled over for failing to stop at a red light. He stepped out of the car wearing a heavy camouflage jacket, black gloves and a black beanie. The console of the vehicle contained several knives and handcuffs, in addition to a stolen driver’s license. The vehicle had been reported stolen on Jan. 30. A search of the vehicle revealed a glass pipes for meth, an air soft gun, a ski mask, ammunition, meth, and other items primarily used for burglaries/robberies. The trunk yielded a black bag with blank credit cards, miscellaneous credit cards in different people’s names, secure digital cards, flash drives, credit card reader, blank checks, and other items used for ID theft. Also found were a hotel key, bandannas, beanies, caution tape, a slim jim set, wireless routers, an LED light, and a remote control helicopter.

Feb. 7

Possession of concealed dagger, possession of marijuana: The corner of Foothill Boulevard and Rosemont Avenue. 12:52 a.m. Suspect, part of a group of three males, was stopped when the arresting officer was looking for a missing person. The suspect had a pendant “neck knife” dagger in a sheath, its handle wrapped in duct tape.
