GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Flintridge Prep 47, Mayfield 46: Fouled with .1 second to go, Tala Ismail needed to make just on free throw to keep the Rebels perfect in the Prep League at home Friday.

The freshman missed the first, but made the second, as Prep improved to 13-3, 6-0 in league on its home floor after it trailed by two with 1:29 left. Ismail finished tied with Lacy Coan for a team-high 14 points in the victory.

“All along we wanted to be one of the top two teams in the league,” Prep Coach Kevin Kiyomura said. “That’s a goal we thought was realistic and set for ourselves and this keeps us in line to do just that.”

La Cañada 65, Monrovia 25: The Spartans had a trio of team-high scorers Friday at home, as Courtney Chen, Lauren Barsamian and Sarah Borland each scored 13 points in their Rio Hondo League victory. La Cañada improved to 14-8, 5-1 in league.

Alemany 61, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 43: Melene Agakanian collected eight points and 10 rebounds Thursday for the Tologs in a Mission League road game. Flintridge Sacred Heart dropped to 9-13, 0-6 in league.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

La Cañada 55, Monrovia 29: Koko Kurdoghlian logged another double-double for the Spartans with a team-high 13 points and 15 rebounds in La Cañada’s Rio Hondo League victory at home Friday night. The Spartans improved to 13-9, 5-1 in league.

BOYS’ SOCCER

La Cañada 1, Monrovia 0: Armand Bagramyan netted the game’s lone goal for the Spartans, who received five saves from goalie Graham Labran-Boyd at home. La Cañada improved to 15-3-1, 5-1 in league.

GIRLS’ WATER POLO

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy in Oxnard Tournament: The Tologs fell to Buena Park, 7-2, in their second game of the Oxnard Tournament Friday to bring their overall record to 10-10.

Sacred Heart started the day with a 10-3 win over El Dorado behind a four-goal game from Hannah Walleck and 15 saves from goalie Elizabeth Hinckley.

The Tologs also posted victories over Marymount, 12-3, and Alemany, 11-3, earlier in the week with Anna Porter and Walleck scoring seven and six goals, respectively, in the two-game span. Hinckley had 27 blocks in both wins.

San Marino 12, La Cañada 2: The Titans picked up a Rio Hondo League road victory Thursday afternoon.

Umi Nakamura paced the Titans (10-8, 3-2) with six goals, while Kate Scannell added five goals and Tessa Denham finished with 11 saves.

WRESTLING

La Cañada 72, St. Paul 12: The Spartans picked up a dominating Rio Hondo League victory at home Thursday by winning all but two matches. La Cañada (3-1 in league) logged 10 pinfall victories with Sean Consolo, Andrew Saracedo, Chris Skaggs, Anthony Landeros, Ryan Loveless, Chris Harb, Michael Greenberg, Alex Bache, Edwin Padilla and Guillermo Padilla all getting in on the action.
