Three hikers and their dog were airlifted out of the Angeles National Forest on Saturday after they became stranded on top of a mountain.

Around 12:45 p.m., two male adults and one female adult were reportedly hiking near Switzer Falls at Bear Canyon in the Angeles National Forest when they went off the trail and became stranded on top of a mountain, according to a report from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The hikers were unable to make their way down the mountain and became disoriented, the report said.

One hiker was able to make a cell phone call to the Crescenta Valley Station, and request help. The Sheriff’s Station then dispatched a helicopter and located the victims, who were stuck on a mountain ridge with their dog.

All three victims and their dog were hoisted into the aircraft, uninjured, and released to the Montrose Search and Rescue, according to the report.
