A 79-year-old La Cañada Flintridge man who went missing at about 6 p.m. Saturday and was the subject of an intensive search was returned home safely to his family by early Sunday, a law enforcement official said.

Donald Warner, who officials said has dementia, was the subject of a hunt that included a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department helicopter that hovered over the city beginning at approximately 9:15 p.m. Saturday, employing a loudspeaker to advise the missing man to dial 911.

“The Glendale Police Department found him in a Starbucks,” Lt. Randy Tuinstra of the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station said Sunday morning. “He’s fine, he was uninjured and he was returned home.”
