La Cañada High sends three wrestlers onto day two

Three La Cañada High wrestlers advanced to the second day of the CIF Southern Section Eastern Division Individual Championships Friday at Oak Hills High.

Spartans heavyweight Guillermo Padilla remains in the championship round after a trio of pinfall victories Friday. He’ll be joined in day two of the tournament by his brother and 220-pounder Edwin Padilla and Peter Garfield (195).

Edwin pinned his first opponent before being pinned himself in his final match Friday. Garfield lost his first match, but responded with consecutive victories, via pin and 5-2 decision, to move into Saturday.
