Les Tupper awards nominations sought
Nominations are still being accepted for the 2014 Les Tupper Community Service Awards, which will be handed out in May.
Nomination papers can be found at City Hall, 1327 Foothill Blvd.; the La Cañada Flintridge Chamber of Commerce office, 4529 Angeles Crest Highway and at the public library, 4545 Oakwood Ave. Deadline for submitting nominations is midnight on March 8.
The Les Tupper Awards have been presented annually since 1969 by the La Cañada Flintridge Coordinating Council. They are named in honor of Les Tupper, a civic leader who cared deeply about education, youth and the quality of life in this town.
Criteria for nominees include a long-term and broad-based involvement in community services, beyond job-related duties. For more information about the awards call Coordinating Council President Carl Christensen at (818) 952-1518 or the chairman of the awards program, Joel Smith, (818) 790-6418.
