Letter: The past is worth preserving

Thank you La Cañadans for your support of our neighborhood’s plea to save La Forest Drive. Whether I was recognized at the store, eatery or elsewhere, the outpouring of positive feedback has been incredible.

Also, your emails and phone calls have kept me on my toes. I was made aware of our F grade for Historical Preservation. There is plenty of evidence to support neighborhood stories worth preserving. Truly, we are a special community because of our history. Together, let us find a way to protect and honor our homes. We have one more meeting with the city and urge residents to make their opinions known. Please call the Council or attend the meeting and let our common sentiments aid in finding real solutions.
