Parcel tax vote-by-mail booklets sent to La Cañada voters this week

Share

More than 12,800 vote-by-mail booklets are being sent this week to voters within the La Cañada Unified School District by the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk for the March 4 parcel tax election.

If approved, Measure LC will authorize the LCUSD to levy a $450 parcel tax for seven years. In 2009 a five-year, $150 parcel tax was approved by voters; it sunsets in June.

Residents in the local school district who register to vote by the Feb. 17 deadline will receive a sample ballot booklet for the mail-in vote. To register to vote visit www.lavote.net, apply in person at the county clerk’s office, 12400 Imperial Highway, Norwalk; or apply in person at public libraries, Department of Motor Vehicle offices, U.S. post offices or other government buildings where voter registration applications are available.

The measure requires approval by at least two-thirds of the voters to pass.
