One person injured in multiple vehicle crash on 210 Freeway

At least one person was injured in a multiple-vehicle crash on the eastbound Foothill (210) Freeway in La Cañada Flintridge early Tuesday.

A two-vehicle collision was reported on the eastbound 210 Freeway, just west of Angeles Crest Highway, shortly after 5 a.m., said California Highway Patrol Officer Monica Posada.

Following the first crash, a second crash involving two vehicles occurred, leaving one person with moderate to severe injuries, she said. The victim, whose name was not immediately available, was transported to Huntington Memorial Hospital.

A SigAlert was issued, closing four lanes, Posada said. The freeway lanes reopened about an hour and 15 minutes after the first crash.

Officers noticed that nails were in the roadway and a Caltrans crew was called for clean up, she said.
