Of the 14,519 registered voters in La Cañada Flintridge, 2,856 cast ballots in Tuesday's statewide primary election, according to the Los Angeles County Registrar's Office. Of those local votes, 1,328 were mail-in ballots.

In other statewide offices, La Cañada voters preferred Pete Peterson over the next highest vote-getter here, Alex Padilla. For the seat of controller, locals gave 1,090 votes to Ashley Swearengin. The next closest vote for that office here was David Evans, who captured 511 La Cañada votes.
La Cañadan Pamala Matsumoto, who was seeking a seat on the Superior Court, received 1,003 votes in her hometown, while Amy Carter, who captured the most votes in that race, had 1,130 here.
