La Cañada school board President Scott Tracy and associates of Capital Group Companies will be lauded by the La Cañada Flintridge Educational Foundation early next year.

The awards will be presented at the foundation’s 23rd annual gala at the Langham Huntington in Pasadena on March 15.

Tracy will step down from the school board after 12 years of service when his term ends in November. He will be honored with the Spirit of Outstanding Service Award.

Craig Mazin, the educational foundation’s president, said in a statement that Tracy has “set the gold standard for service to our schools and community.”

“It’s no exaggeration to say we would not have survived the recent public school funding crisis without him,” he added.

Capital Group is one of the foundation’s top donors. The company will receive the Partners in Excellence Award.

“We are proud to honor the Capital Group employees with the inaugural P.I.E. Award as they have, through the years, given so very generously and leveraged their company’s support on behalf of all of our kids,” Steven Ingrassia, the foundation’s executive vice president, said in a statement.
