Streets closing for Amgen Tour race
A few streets in La Cañada Flintridge, including a portion of Angeles Crest Highway, will close Saturday when the seventh stage of the Amgen Tour of California bicycle race sweeps through the town on its way to a finish in Pasadena.
The racers will start from the Santa Clarita Town Center Mall at 11:40 a.m. and will travel through the Angeles National Forest. After passing the Mount Wilson Observatory, the cyclists will travel on Angeles Crest to La Cañada, make a left turn onto Green Lane, a right onto Princess Anne Road, then a right onto Commonwealth Avenue. They will cross Foothill and continue on Commonwealth to Berkshire Avenue, where they will turn left, following that street until it joins Linda Vista Avenue at the Pasadena border.
Green Lane, Princess Anne Road, Commonwealth Avenue, Foothill Boulevard and Berkshire Avenue will be impacted by the race with closures expected to run from around noon to 4 p.m. It is expected that the tour will spend about 30 minutes passing through La Cañada Flintridge.
