Donations of used equipment are being sought by the Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge, according to Deb Jordan, executive director, who sent out a plea this week.
According to Jordan, the center's needs include sports equipment such as baseball bats, gloves, helmets, soccer shin guards, tennis rackets and basketballs.
"Outgrown or no-longer-used equipment can really help bolster our programs and save the center from purchasing new items," stated Amanda Balcazar, programs director for the center. "We have a feeling there are garages full of unused sports equipment that would really benefit the Community Center."
Also needed is equipment for children's cooking classes, including kitchen towels, pot holders, cookie sheets, food processors, pots and pans with lids, and paper goods.
Jordan says gift cards to stores would also be welcomed. To learn more about the tax-deductible donations, call (818) 790-4353.
