Fast is part of teens’ fundraiser

Twenty-two La Cañada Flintridge teens plan to fast, living on only water and juice for 30 hours this weekend.

The fast is part of a World Vision project to promote awareness about poverty-stricken nations. Members of La Cañada United Methodist Church’s youth group will join with teens from other area churches to raise money for children in Zimbabwe.

The group’s goal is to raise $3,600, which can feed 10 children for a year. Donations can be sent online at https://support.worldvision.org/goto/Crescenta-Canada.

The teens plan to spend Friday night sleeping outdoors in cardboard boxes.
