Speaker to talk foster care at luncheon

La Cañada United Methodist Church’s Sunday service features Pastor Elaine Cho. After the 10:30 a.m. service, the church’s Senior Fellowship will host a luncheon with a speaker from Court Appointed Special Advocate, an organization that supports foster children.

On Saturday, the church will host an afternoon musical performance featuring selections from George Gershwin’s “Porgy and Bess” and tangos by Ástor Piazzolla. Tea, sandwiches and scones will be served. Cake plates will be available for purchase. Tickets are $15. Call the church at (818) 790-3605 for more information. The church is located at 104 Berkshire Place. The event starts at 3 p.m.
