The 35th anniversary celebration for the La Cañada Presbyterian Church Parent Education program will take place Friday, Feb. 28 at NOOR in downtown Pasadena. The evening gets underway at 6 p.m. Serving as emcees are Chris Erskine and Chuck Osburn.

The gala’s honorees are Annie Latta Krach, Gail Hanson and Claudia Zentmyer, the trio who founded the program. They will be given the 2014 Shining Star awards.

“These ladies had a vision, they had persistence, and they had God whispering in their ears — obviously a great combination for a winning idea that has stood the test of time. I’m honored to call them all my friends,” said parent education instructor Jan Roberts.

“We are excited to celebrate Parent Ed’s 35th anniversary with our program’s founders, and we are looking forward to seeing a lot of alumni from Parent Ed,” said gala co-chair Felina Mahoney. “The food will be delicious and the venue is classy. It’s a perfect opportunity for a date night with friends, and it isn’t too far from home.”
