Wine-tasting fundraiser slated for April 27

The Los Altos Auxiliary of Hathaway-Sycamores Child and Family Services will be hosting its annual wine-tasting fundraiser from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, at the La Cañada Thursday Club, 4440 Woodleigh Lane. The event is themed the “Wines of France, A Tasting Experience.” Chairing the event are La Cañada Flintridge residents Michele Listo and Diane Poryes.

Guests will enjoy seven highly rated regional French wines, starting with a sparkling Crémant followed by crisp whites and then moving on to heartier reds, including both a Bourgogne Blanc, a Vouvray, a Châteufneuf-du-Pape, and a Côtes du Rhône. Light appetizers, prepared to pair with the selected wines, will be served.

Voluntary culinary students will prepare and serve the food offerings under the direction of Chef Jamie Colboth-MacLeod from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts Los Angeles. Gelson’s is underwriting a portion of the food costs.
