Dragon Faire breathes success

Although there were some nervous moments Friday night when a storm blew through the area, organizers of the St. George’s Preschool Dragon Faire breathed a collective sigh of relief Saturday when the weather cleared and sunny skies prevailed in time for the annual carnival.

The four-hour event saw a steady stream of families throughout, not only from the local communities of La Cañada and La Crescenta, but from outside areas, according to Kimiko Feehan, who handled publicity for the fair and made liberal use of social media to draw attention to the fundraiser. “Some people came all the way from Alhambra,” she said.

Feehan added that there were so many visitors that the Habit Burger Grill catering truck set up for the event nearly ran out of food. But all was well and everyone was fed. Children enjoyed pony rides, game booths, face painting, an inflatable maze and obstacle course.

“A big thanks to everyone in the community for supporting our event,” Feehan said.
