Nearly two dozen sixth-grade students representing public elementary schools within the La Cañada Unified School District were feted at a luncheon event Jan. 23 hosted by the Kiwanis Club of La Cañada.

The students honored for demonstrating good citizenship and other positive behaviors included Tyler Park, Amber Zhang, Sarina Parks, Gayane Khachatourian, Brandon Lee and Brendan Kuo from La Cañada Elementary; Alissa Kim, Giann Lee, Charlotte Dien, Joseph Kim, Harry Chant, Myles Henry, Ryan Chun and Claire Lin, Paradise Canyon Elementary; and Palm Crest Elementary students Isabelle Du, Abigail Lee, Isabel Kim, Mona Dillard, Lorelei Rocca, Maggie Dillard, Zachary Mayne and Leah Wood.

Invited to attend with the honorees were their parents or special guests. The principals of their respective schools were also in the audience, as were district officials Wendy Sinnette, superintendent; LCUSD Governing Board President Brent Kuszyk, Vice President Joe Radabaugh and board member Kaitzer Puglia.

“We congratulate the students and thank the families for nurturing and supporting extraordinary positive behaviors and activities,” Nancy Leininger, coordinator of the Terrific Kids program for the club, told those assembled for the occasion.

The Kiwanis Club of La Cañada meets Wednesdays at Van de Kamp Hall in Descanso Gardens. To learn more about the organization, visit lacanadakiwanis.org.
