College Corner: Sisters graduate from Haverford

RachelSalvo and Rebecca Salvo, the daughters of Teresa and John N. Salvo of La Cañada, graduated May 16 from Haverford College in Haverford, Pa. Both women earned bachelor’s degrees in economics.

While studying at Haverford, both were involved in a variety of campus activities. Rachel and Rebecca played on the volleyball team and served as team co-captains. Rachel was named Honorable Mention American Volleyball Coaches Assn., was an Honorable Mention Mid-Atlantic Region Team selection by coaches and was named First-Team All-Centennial Conference.

Rebecca earned Second-Team All-American honors, was an All-Mid-Atlantic Region Team selection, was named First-Team All-Centennial Conference and Centennial Conference Player of the Week, and became the second player to be voted Centennial Conference Player of the Year in consecutive seasons. Rachel and Rebecca received the Varsity Cup for excelling in leadership, sportsmanship and athletic ability.
