Child Educational Center summer programs — Beginning June 21. Ten-week exploration series (June 21-Aug. 25): Each week will focus on a different theme. This camp, for children entering grades 1-7, is offered in La Cañada and Pasadena and will included opportunities for swimming, relaxation and open-ended play time. Horse camp (July 19-23 and Aug. 9-13): For children entering grades 4-7. Children will begin and end their days in La Cañada, with the center providing transportation to and from Altadena Stables. Theater Camp For Children — June 21 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. ( 2 weeks).The Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge is offering a theater camp for children ages 6 through 12. This will be an adventure into the world of musical theater, inviting kids to be creative and engaged in the complete process of putting on a show. Kids will learn about writing a script, acting, mime, singing, dancing, set and prop design and working as a team.
The two-week experience will culminate in a show for family and friends. No experience is necessary. The camp instructor, Joanne Voors, has been with the Community Center for several years teaching Mommy and Me Dance, Children's Ballet and dance classes.
