Pasadena Women’s Connection — Aug. 11 at 11:30 a.m. “The Savvy Traveler Post 9/11” luncheon and program will be presented at Brookside Country Club, 1133 N. Rosemont, Pasadena. CLASSES

American Heart Assn. CPR & First Aid — Aug. 12 and 19. 6 p.m. Class sizes are limited and both certifications are for two years. The Heartsaver/AED (CPR) course, taught on Aug. 12, covers adult, child and infant CPR. The class lasts approximately three hours. Foreclosure workshop — Aug. 12 and 19. 6 p.m. California Foreclosure Institute presents a free two-hour workshop for investors and Realtors on how to get started finding and buying foreclosure properties. Watermelon Festival — Aug. 13, 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Aug. 14, 12 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.; and Aug. 15, 12 p.m.to 10:30 p.m. Sponsored by the Sunland-Tujunga Lions Club, the 49th annual Watermelon Festival will be held at Sunland Park, 8651 Foothill Blvd., Sunland. The event will feature carnival rides, watermelon eating contests and watermelon carving demonstrations. Proceeds go to the Sunland-Tujunga Lions Club, which raises money to support others. Low Cost Pet Vaccination Clinic — Aug. 11, 6:30 p.m.to 8 p.m. The Pasadena Humane Society and SPCA is offering a low cost vaccination clinic for dogs and cats. All dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in a carrier. Dog licenses for Arcadia, San Marino and La Cañada Flintridge will be available for purchase. Spontaneous Fantasia: The Omnicentric Universe — Aug. 8, 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The Glendale Planetarium at Glendale Community College will feature a live virtual reality performance created by high-tech artist J-Walt. La Cañada High School Class of 1970 — Oct. 8-9. A cocktail party will be held beginning at 6 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Pasadena Hilton; the 40-year reunion dinner is set for 6 p.m. Oct. 9, also at the Pasadena Hilton, 168 S. Los Robles.
