Float group plans Hamburger Night

LCF Tournament of Roses Assn. will hold its annual Hamburger Night at 6 p.m. Friday in the backyard of Sarah and Mayfield Marshall, 4918 Vineta Ave.

Community members 18 and older can enjoy a hamburger (or cheeseburger) with all the sides for $8. Just bring an appetizer to share, and theassociation furnishes the hamburgers, cheese, potato salad, baked beans, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, onions, pickles, etc. Beverages will be available for purchase at a nominal cost.

Leisure Club to meet

The Leisure Club of La Cañada Flintridge, a nonprofit, social club open to local residents 50 and older, will feature summer fare of hot dogs and ice cream sundaes at its Sept. 10 meeting. Entertainment will be provided by Otis Hutchins’ Wright Stuff Jazz Band, an enthusiastic group of senior performers who will lead the club in nostalgic sing-along.

The meeting starts at 1 p.m. in the all-purpose room at the Crescenta-Cañada YMCA, 1930 Foothill Blvd., La Cañada. Parking is free. To learn more about the Leisure Club call President Marcia Degl’Innocenti, (661) 367-7168.
