Club News: Kiwanis-AM Club names upcoming speakers

The La Cañada Kiwanis-AM Club meets every Wednesday morning at 7:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the Lutheran Church in the Foothills on 1700 Foothill Blvd. in La Cañada. The public is welcome to attend and listen to the guest speaker.

On Sept. 22, Jodi Michele Cooley will speak on, “Transforming Losses into Wins.” Aida Cerda will address the group on the topic, “Youth Violence and Gang Prevention,” at the Oct. 6 meeting. Cerda is the director of Youth Violence and Gang Prevention, Division of Adolescent Medicine at the Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.

On Oct. 13 Donna Collins takes on the topic, “The Power to Save Lives.” Collins is an account executive for BeTheMatch Organization, which arranges for marrow or cord blood transplants for patients with life-threatening diseases.

Robert Zaun, a detective with the Glendale Police Department, will address the group on, “Identity Theft and Fraud” on Oct. 27.
