Float’s major donors toast ‘3-2-1-Dig!’

The La Cañada Flintridge Tournament of Roses Association honored its major donors on Dec. 29 at a festive tented party held “under the bridge” on Foothill Boulevard at Hampton Road, where the float “3-2-1 DIG” was in final preparation for its Rose Parade debut.

This annual event, organized by a committee of the organization’s past presidents, attracted approximately 100 supporters who sipped champagne and wine as they sampled hors d’oeuvres and exchanged holiday greetings with their fellow enthusiasts.

Those attending included Margaret and Bill Watts, Eileen and Bob Ferber, Betty Jones, Betty Ryan and Fred Keenan, Gloria and Stewart Lee, Mary Lou and Erik Fiske, Dustin Crumb, Sharlyn French, Bobbie and Clyde Hemphill, Sally and Mike Horner, Eleanor and Don Ziehl, Cynthia and John Benton, Joy and Joe Wilson, Corkie and Dave MacPherson, Peggy and Bill Barber, Gloria Winkley, Barbara Edwards, Julie Cameron and David Granish, Pat and Dick Anderson, Rora Melendy, Sue Beatty, Don Voss, Renee La Bran and Malcolm Boyd, Bill Martin, Jacquie Hollingsworth, Ruth and Charlie Plowman, Charlie Plowman Jr., and Anthony Portantino.
