Stardusters pair rumba, swing for dance event

Stardusters’ presidents Jim and Gigi Schlueter chose “Our Love Blooms in the Spring” as the theme for the April Spring dinner dance held at the San Gabriel Country Club.

The featured dance of the evening was the rumba, making for a lively evening. A theme song for the evening was the well-loved standard, “Green Eyes.”

The band, Swing 4 Sale, played more than enough swing dance music to keep everyone on their toes and on the dance floor all evening.

Hot-pink cloths covered the dining tables, which were centered with bountiful bouquets of mixed spring flowers accented with sparkly curly-cue twigs.

Chairing the event that evening were Mary and Mark Herring. They were assisted by Marion and Paul Greene, Margaret and John Schock, Barbara and Jack Stocky and Diane and Newt Russell.

Enjoying the good company and the music that evening were Bill and Peggy Barber, Carol and Pete Cortez, Liz and Bob Craven, Francie and Jerry Crichton, Easy and Ed Delaney, Orchid Donnelly and Gabriel Tsai, Barry and Susan Franzen and Garth and Vera Gragg.

Others seen dancing were Marion and Paul Greene, Mary and Mark Herring, Dennis and Patricia Hetherington, Susan and Jim Holland, Michael and Virginia Karsch, Kent and Stefi Kuster and Penny and Jay Lusche.
